Tour Description
Starting from RBRJ Kyoto, we make our way over to Fushimi Inari en route to one of Kyoto’s great Zen temples, Tofuku-ji. At Tofuku-ji, known for its dramatic valley, wooden bridges, and gardens, we have the option to walk through the grounds or cycle around the impressive walls.
We then continue uphill on a gentle slope toward Sennyuji, a less-visited temple complex deeply tied to the Imperial family. From Sennyuji, we descend into the historic Higashiyama area, where we get a good view of the Yasaka Pagoda before passing by Kodaiji Park and then passing through the scenic Maruyama Park.
From Maruyama Park, we ride deeper into the eastern hills toward Nanzenji and then over to Heian-Jingu, and the large Tori gate at Okazaki Park.
Picking up the picturesque Shiragawa Canal, we are led back to the Kamo River and the cycle path that leads us south back towards RBRJ Kyoto.
We finish the ride back at the shop, concluding a rich cultural journey that combines Kyoto’s most iconic landmarks with its most charming hidden areas.
