Third Party Insurance with Road Bike Rental Japan

Peace of mind while exploring Japan.

On July 1st, 2016, in Osaka Prefecture, a new ordinance came into effect that requires all bicycle owners to have bicycle liability insurance. While cycling in Japan is generally safe, there are always risks associated with cycling so being covered will give you the extra peace-of-mind while on your adventure.

Every RBRJ bike is inspected and covered under the TS Mark Scheme annually. More information on the TS Mark Scheme’s coverage and compensation can be found here

In 2023, we also added an extra layer of third party and business liability insurance through the Bicycle Safety Council (Japanese).

For overseas travelers, we recommend that you confirm that your travel insurance also covers activities such as cycling to add an extra layer of protection.
