I rented a touring bike to take to Shimanami Kaido and then ride back from Hiroshima to Osaka. It was a fantastic bike, well-maintained and had no issues over the 240 miles of my ride.

What are RBRJs hours of operation?

Our hours of operation vary by RBRJ location and season.

Peak season (March, April, May, June, September, October and November)

Osaka: 8:30 to 12:00, then 13:00 to 17:30
Kyoto: 8:30 to 12:00, then 13:00 to 17:30
Onomichi: 8:30 to 11:00

Non-Peak season (January, July, December)

Osaka: 8:30 to 12:00, then 13:00 to 17:30
Kyoto: 8:30 to 12:00
Onomichi: 8:30 to 11:00

Closed: February and August

Please note that all operating hours are subject to change based on operational requirements. We kindly ask that you check the homepage banner and the latest updates on our Google listings for each RBRJ location to confirm any temporary closures or schedule adjustments.

How much does a rental cost and can I get a discount on a long rental?

We have a tiered pricing system so the daily price is reduced for longer rental periods. Please use our Osaka booking system to simulate the pricing depending on your preferences, duration and our availability.

For 1-day rentals, please find our pricing below:

Cannondale Quick 3 (Touring Bike): ¥4,400
Cannondale Optimo 1 (Road Bike with Shimano 105 spec): ¥7,500
Cannondale Optimo 2 (Road Bike with Shimano Tiagra spec): ¥6,600

What is included??

Our pricing includes the following items:
-The bike
-Helmet
-Pedals (please read bike description for details of pedals)
-2 x Bottle cages (except on small bikes)
-Lights
-Lock
-Saddle Bag
-Spare Tube
-Tyre Levers
-Tire pump
-Multi-tool
-Bike set-up (if you supply us with your measurements)
-Routes and tips and plenty of local knowledge
-Racks are included on most Tour bikes. We no longer offer racks on Road Bikes, but please contact us for bike packing gear such as saddlebags, handlebar bags, etc.

We may sell the following items (sold seperately or for a seperate fee; depending on stock and availability):
-Rinko/Train Bags
-Panniers sets(available for rent on Tour Bikes only, please rent separately and in conjunction with your tour bike rental)
-Clothing
-Gloves
-Water bottles
-Bike Packing gear: Bar Bags, Saddle Bags, handlebar bags, etc.
-Other cycling gear and equipment

The following are not included and aren’t have available for sale:
-Cycling Shoes

Can I pick-up in Osaka and drop-off in Kyoto (or pickup in Kyoto and drop off in Osaka)?

Yes. Collecting at RBRJ (Kyoto) and returning to RBRJ (Osaka) and vice-versa is an option. There is a ¥3000 yen multi-location logistics fee per bike to be added when making a reservation. Please reserve this option as an ‘Extra’ at the time of making a reservation.

What is the cancellation policy?

There is a 5% cancellation fee on all bookings to cover handling and booking costs. Please contact us by 5pm the previous day to discuss rescheduling opportunities. Bookings can be rescheduled for free depending on availability.

If you cancel after 5pm the previous day, kindly understand we charge 50% of the rental total.

Delivery Services: rentals with delivery services will be dealt with on a case by case basis, and may not be eligible for a refund due to circumstances such as shipping dates, staff labor costs, etc.

Tours: Please refer to the terms and conditions on the booking site that was used. In general, any guided tour that does not have enhanced refund terms will not be eligible for a refund if the booking is cancelled 1 day or less before the event.

Early Returns: If you would like to return the bikes early this is OK, however we cannot refund you for the missed cycling days. We kindly thank you for your understanding.
