How to Explore Japan
by Touring or Road Bike
Step 1: Decide on bikes and gear
The first step to booking your bikes is choosing the right bike for you. As you may already know, height is very important when sizing up a comfortable bike. The size of a bike is measured by the length of the seat tube and a person's height will determine what sized bike is best for that person to ride. Please see the charts below to see what size is recommended for your height.

We also understand that you may still be planning your trip and not have confirmed dates. If this is the case, please get in touch and let us know your desired dates and bike requests and we will check on availability for you. We can also hold a reservation for a week however after a week if you would like to confirm the booking, please book and pay for the rental through our online system.

Step 2: Book your bikes and gear online
When you are ready to book, simply add your bike and gear along with the duration of the rental to your cart in our online shop. Our daily price for the bikes and gear gets cheaper as the duration increases. Depending on the start and finish date that you choose, your daily rate will automatically be updated.

Some cyclists may want to bring their own panniers which is also fine. All of our touring bikes come with a rack attached (at no extra charge) which most, if not all panniers will attach to. We will be happy to send you pictures of the rack with dimensions to make sure your panniers will fit. If you would like to use your own panniers please make a note in your order or send us an email and let us know.
At Road Bike Rental Japan we also have five pedal choices: Shimano SPD-SL, Shimano MTB, Look Keo, Flat / Normal or Bring your Own. When booking your bike please let us know your pedal preferences in the notes section of the cart.

Due to demand, there may be a chance when you’re booking that you are unable to reserve your bike and gear during your preferred dates. If this is the case, please get in touch and we can let you know any other times the bikes are available as you may be flexible with your travel dates and could arrange your trip to coincide with the times the bikes are available. Please note that Spring and Autumn are our peak seasons and we recommend getting in touch and booking as early as possible to ensure we have stock available.
